So I kind of, sort of, told Paul I wouldn't post these pics in his whites... but you guys won't tell him right? hehe. I love these. We took the pics last week for Paula's birthday coming up! They turned out really good for not being professional; some sweet lady saw us trying to do the old fashion timer photo and opt to help us! I love nice people, don't you?
Paul is gone this week, but should be home in time for Labor Day weekend. We have lots of fun stuff planned, so I'll be sure to take lots of pictures!
We had a busy and awesome weekend, but I forgot to take my camera with me everywhere we went. :( We took Audrey to the Zoo and she LOVED it; it was adorable. We had some friends over Saturday night, then Sunday we had a long run together, well, Paul did at least (10 miles... crazy guy), and then hit the beach up later that afternoon with all of our friends for some good ol' surfing! One of my girlfriends offered to watch Audrey for a last minute date night, so we enjoyed a nice dinner together before Paul had to leave this morning! Hey! How's it going guys? Happy Wednesday! I'm sneaking on the computer before little miss Audrey wakes up from her nap. Boy has she been napping good these days; such a blessing because I've been fighting off a cold, and I can take my naps with her! :) Just wanted to give you guys a flashback pic of Audrey when she was just 2 months old. Can you believe that's her? Oh my sweet baby girl... she's so big now!!!!
We tried surfing this past weekend, and it's probably our newly found love of a sport (don't worry football, you will always be our first). It's a lot harder than it looks, and it's very exhausting. We are going this weekend with some friends, so maybe this time we can get some pointers! Better go, I hear Audrey talking up a storm upstairs! (Oh, I have some reaaaallly good pics to post next week, but ya gotta wait until after the 1st of Sept!! Keep checkin though, cause they might just sneak on here sooner. :) LOVE YOU guys!

Not sure where the last couple of weeks went, but we have been constantly on the go. Did you know it's August 17th???? YIKES! I am secretly dreading the day Audrey turns 18 months; I don't know why, but 18 months sounds so big. My baby girl is a toddler now. :( I took Audrey to get her bangs trimmed for the first time, and she looks so much more grown up now. I'll post some more pics later today, just wanted to give you a sneak peek of these from the beach the other day AND my score of a find at the goodwill store...

Um, yeah... I have been trying for weeks now to upload some pictures and every time I tried, I would get the "http failure" message. Today it worked, but only for these few pics. I promise, I'll keep trying!

Paul is finally back! YAY! And we have had a busy last couple of weeks... filled with celebrations-Paul's birthday and our 6 anniversary! We left for a spontaneous 4 day trip to Kauai last week and it was absolutely beautiful! We had so much fun and Audrey was the best baby-took her car naps like a charm and was so fun and adventurous with us. I think we would live there if we could... maybe a good retirement place? I think so!

Things are all good here. Just waiting to here from OCS mid September. Things could change a lot for us in the next year or so.

Audrey is doing wonderfully- her fav words are "shoosss (shoes), bubuys (bye bye), and side (outside). She LOVES the water and being outside. Good thing we are in Hawaii right? There are some funny pictures of her running into the ocean and trying to run right into the pool. lol This girl as absolutely no fear, that's for sure!

So I've been feeling a little bummed out lately, kind of in a little funk. Some days are easier than others, but lets face it; having Paul gone is no fun. Good thing for me, I have the cutest daughter in the world to keep my spirits up, and of course God to keep me staying strong.

I decided after my second day of being in a "funk" I wasn't going to end the day feeling bummed about Paul being gone, and we were going to go to the beach. Lets be real, who can possibly feel bummed at the beach, AND of course seeing my sweet little girl playing in the sand. Not me and I'm sure you wouldn't be either. :) Turns out, it was just what we needed. Here are some great pictures from the last week and Audrey playing at the beach. Yay for being in Hawaii!

Aloha everyone!!!

Sorry it's been a while since our last post; I know, I'm an awful blogger! BUT, I do kind of have a good excuse! We took a month long trip back to the mainland to see lots of friends and family and boy was it a blast. After returning back to Hawaii, it was bittersweet. It was nice to be in our own home, but was not so fun waking up to an empty house. Luckily I have the most amazing, sweet friends to keep us all busy while we wait for Paul's homecoming in just a few weeks! YYYAAAAYYY!! Did I tell you I am extreeeemmly excited? Cause I am. :) After Paul gets back, we will be celebrating Fathers Day, our 6 year wedding anniversary (Yes, I said 6, can you believe it?), and Paul's birthday!!! It will be a fun and glorious couple of weeks. No word on OCS yet; the board won't meet until August 25th, and we probably won't find out anything until the middle to end of September. I'll keep ya'll posted though! Miss you guys SO much and hope you enjoy some pics from the last couple of weeks! P.S., my sweet, amazingly talented, friend Lindsay took the last 4 pics. Not a baby anymore...

Our Audrey Ann is not a baby anymore and is growing up fast. I feel like she was just born and now she's almost 14 months. AH! Where has the time gone? Here are some cute pictures of her from the last couple of weeks. Isn't she a doll? She's still not fully walking yet... she'll take a couple steps, then crawl because she's so much faster! lol! Things are all good here... Paul put his officer package in last month, and now the waiting game begins. He leaves this next week for 3 months, so we will be missing him so much (and taking a lot of pictures)! Love you all and hope you are all doing well!

I absolutely cannot believe 1 year has gone by since we had our Audrey bugs. She is our sweet girl and has brought such joy and love into our lives. We could not have asked for a better 1st birthday for her and are so thankful we could have Grandma Burt, Grandma Freamon, and Aunt Carrie come visit us! Some of our sweet friends came over too to wish Audrey Happy Birthday. :) We had so much fun with all of our family, from North Shore, Waimea Bay, Beaches, Waikiki, parasailing, and just a whole lotta fun! I have to say, it was so sad watching each one of our family memebers leave one at a time... I wished we lived closer, or maybe we can just kidnap them all?

Love you guys and wanted to share some pictures! Oh, and Happy Saint Patricks Day... Paul had to go back to work/duty today, so Audrey and I celebrated with a cute dress and green eggs! :) Hope you all have a good weekend!

We've been pretty busy the last couple of weeks; enjoying exploring Hawaii and visiting new beaches. It's been so fun and we are SO excited to have family come visit this weekend for Audrey's birthday! Valentines Day was nice and relaxing at home. We did prime rib and all the fixings.. and I made a brownie cake for dessert. Audrey was wearing her cute Valentines dress and she got a hippo and a white rose from Daddy. She sure does love her hippo and she drags it with her everywhere. I can't believe that in a few short weeks she will be 1! She is growing so fast and is working on walking right now. Her new thing is shaking her head no. We both think it's hilarious... at least for now. lol! She loves to be outside and LOVES to look at the birds in our backyard. Probably her favorite thing! Thankful....

Not sure what my deal is, but I've been extremely emotional lately (no, I'm not pregnant...yet). I cry with the drop of a hat and I just have been so thankful for my family and friends. I think maybe it's the fact that Audrey is not my little buggle anymore, she is growing up, and doing it way too fast for me. I honestly can't believe she will be turning 1 so soon. YIKES! I just wanted to take a moment and thank each and everyone of you who ready this blog. I might not know exactly who does, but we appreciate you taking the time to read this and see our little family grow. I just am so thankful for this wonderful life God has given me, and thank him everyday for my many blessings. As promised, above are some fun pictures from our trip to Colorado, Christmas and some randoms. 10 months

Our little Audrey turned 10 months this past week, and we just can't believe it. She is getting so big, and I can't believe in just 2 short months, she will be 1. We bought her a stand and play walker for Christmas that she absolutely loves (more pictures to follow). Here is a video of her tonight, learning how to walk. Yes, I started crying..... I just can't believe how big she is getting, and almost wish I could keep her this small forever. She's our pride and joy and we just love her so much. She's a whopping 20.5lbs and is 28 1/2 inches tall. :) We love our little Audrey Ann so much. I promise, I'll try and update this more this year, and I'll try and get pictures from our fun trip to Colorado, Christmas, and New Years up this week! We love you all and miss you terribly! Hope you all are doing well!

I absolutely cannot believe it's almost Thanksgiving. I feel like we just moved to Hawaii, and now we are into the Holiday season! I can't believe it!

Audrey is now 8 months and is doing amazing. She's learning all sorts of things and is growing so much. Everyday, she learns something new, and is just so much fun to be around. I'm so lucky I get to stay home with her and not work... we have so much fun playing! She loves to laugh, play, crawl around... still loves sweet potatoes, apples, yougart, bananas, and pretty much anything else she can get her hands on. We are trying the sippy cup right now, but she hasn't quite figured out what it is. She loves to eat or take a bite out of anything we have in our hands... it's pretty cute. She loves to drink from my water bottles, and she's actually pretty good at it! We weighed her about a week and a half ago, and she was 18 1/2 pounds!

We've been pretty busy since we've been here... we've already had my Mom come out twice, my dear friend Erica came to see us, and last week my best friend Stacy came to see us! Last Sunday Paul, Stacy and I ran the Val Nolasco Half Marathon. It was so much fun (well, besides the last couple of miles) and what an amazing experience it was. Paul was amazing and pushed Audrey the WHOLE way. He even beat Stacy and I by 30 mins! Paul and I have been thinking about running the North Shore Marathon in May, but we will wait and see if he will even be here, or if there just might be a bun in the oven. :)

The next couple of weeks are going to fly by. We are having Thanksgiving at our house, and plan on having some people from Paul's work come over who don't have any family or friends in the area to spend the day with us. Paul will leave the week after Thanksgiving, and won't return until the middle of December. I'll be heading to Colorado for a little over a week while he's gone and both Audrey and I are so, so, so excited! I can't wait to have some fun in the snow and spend some great family time with everyone. I can't wait to see Audrey play with all of her cousins!

We took some x-mas pictures of Audrey before Paul left, and I'm in the process of making the cards! I can't wait to send the out and for you all to see them. :)

Audrey had her 6 month well-being check up (a little late) on Monday and she is doing fabulous! She is just above 50% for both height and weight! She is growing more in weight this time, since she was only 15% in weight at her 4 month check up. The doctor also said she is off the charts for head circumference, in other words, she has a big head. lol! I remember the doctors tell me that when I was pregnant with her! She is growing and growing... she says "Ma Ma" all the time, and she's said "Da Da" a couple of times. She doesn't really seem too interested in trying to crawl, since she can roll over and get where she needs to go that way; she is working on it though. :)

Hello everyone!

She loves her bouncer, loves to laugh and is now sitting up by herself (well, pretty much..). She's just so much fun and we love her so much. Her 6 month well-being check up isn't until the end of September, but we just weighed her the other day and she was just about 15lbs! She doesn't weight much, but she sure is tall. Things are going well at the Burt house... we can't believe that April is half over and we will soon be leaving Oak Harbor for good. Audrey is doing very well, still eating so much and growing so fast. She weighs 9 lbs 11oz and is about 22 inches. At her 4 week appointment she was 75% for height, and 50% for weight... I have a feeling she's more on the 75% for weight now! :) She is making the cutest faces and it is so fun to interact with her. We just love her so much. Hey guys, its been a crazy day for sure. Baby Audrey was born March 6th. She weighs 7 pounds, 6 ounces. Krynn and Audrey are healthy and doing great, Krynn was in labor for 21 hours! Audrey is amazing and adorable as can be. We have a bunch of pics we are going to put up but we brought the wrong sized camera cable, we will get the right sized cable tomorrow and upload them. She is so wonderful and makes the cutest little baby noises. Thank you all for your love and support.

So these pictures really don't do her room justice, but here they are. I am so please with how everything turned out! Paul's mom was so gracious to make her bedding, something that I dreamed about and can't tell you how happy I am with the way it turned out. I actually cried when I saw everything put together. Thank you SO much Paula! :) I had the pleasure of making a lot of things for her room, including her damask painting above her crib, a photo memory board, butterfly paintings, and some other nicknack's. I wish I would have been able to paint her room, but I'm hoping to do so in Hawaii. I'm planning on ordering a black and white polka-dot valance for her room, and also a vinyl wall inscription to go above her crib... It just didn't make sense to put them up now, since we will be leaving at the end of April! We are hoping I'll go into labor soon... we are both so ready for her! We will keep you all updated! Can't wait to see all of you guys and we look forward to the next couple of months.

8 and 9 Month Pictures

Well, I officially have 18 days to go.. plus or hopefully minus a few days :)! We are both just so excited and ready to have Audrey here. Her bedroom is almost all complete; I'll take some pictures and post them once I get it all done. I'm sad I couldn't paint her bedroom, but hopefully in Hawaii I'll be able to paint her room. Here are some pictures of my 8 and 9 month marks. My belly just keeps getting bigger and bigger... well, it's reached it's max right about now! :)

Today we went in for our second attempt to see Audrey in 3/4D. At our first attempt, December 29th, she had her face smudged up against the placenta, so the 3D machine had to go through a lot of tissue, and thus, we couldn't see her very good (she also had her hand covering her face most of the time). Well today she cooperated much better and it was SO amazing. What an experience to see her move and to make out some of her features. Here's what we know so far: she has my nose, lips, and mouth, Paul's chin, a mixture of our eye shape, cute chubby checks, LOTS of hair, gets hiccups regularly like Paul does, is very active, and loves to suck her thumb. Seeing her today just made us more excited to have her here and to kiss her cute little chubby checks. We can't wait to meet our baby girl! Only 8 weeks and 2 days!

Paul's Christmas party this year was very exciting. Paul was officially "frocked," as they call it in the Navy, to E-6 (First Class). This is a pretty big advancement and to make it in such a short time, is a big accomplishment. I am so proud of Paul, what he has done in the Navy, and how he has provided for our family. Below are some pictures from the Christmas party, and one is from a photo we took today at my 7 month mark. We are sure excited for Audrey to come... Things are finally starting to slow down for us and we are getting really excited about being that much closer to meeting our baby girl... We have decided to name her Audrey Ann Burt, and can't wait. I'm exactly 6 months and can't believe how time has flown by! Only a couple more months and our lives as we know it will completely change..cannot wait!

We are happy to report that things with Audrey are going well and my pregnancy is wonderful. I'm starting to get more tired, and achy, but I'm just glad to know she is grown strong and healthy. We can't wait for little Annie Kate to arrive (Paul's sister Amy's baby), and for her and Audrey to be so close in age!

We FINALLY sold our house. Things have been crazy the last couple of weeks with finalizing, repairing, and moving. I don't think I ever want to sell a house again. lol... it was pretty painful! But we are extremely fortunate to have sold our house so fast, and at a reasonable price for us. We are thankful to be in our new place now, that way we can start getting Audrey's room all together.

Busy, busy, busy...

That pretty much sums up our summer this year! We have been on the go since our graduation, and I haven't found much time to post. Probably the biggest news we have is that we found out I was pregnant...15 week today to be exact! We are so incredibly happy and can't wait to meet our little Burt. I can feel my belly grow more and more each day, and I absolutely love it! I was pretty sick in my first trimester, but I'm loving being pregnant now! :) We were able to see our little guy/girl at my 12 week appointment, and little Burt was sure active, bouncing around in my tummy! It was an incredible experience that we will never forget! I go in for my 16 week appointment next Wednesday, and I'm hoping (I know it's a long shot...:)) that my doctor will be able to give us a little hint as to whether it's a boy or a girl! We just can't wait to find out!

Some more exciting news... we found out that we got orders to HAWAII!! Paul and I are really excited and look forward to this new adventure in our lives. We are due to transfer after the baby is born, probably in April/May time frame!

We were able to go to DC for Carrie and Corey's wedding over the 4th of July! What an amazing wedding and it was so great to be a part of it and share their special day. We had such a good time, so thank you Carrie and Corey for being so hospitable to us! Love you guys! :) Paul and I have been to several Mariners games this year and look forward to the Seahawks games this year too! We just got back from one on Sunday; it was the season opener and the Hawks won 28-0! We were SOOOO happy. Paul and I both LOVE football season!!

Hello All!

We've been pretty busy the last couple of months and haven’t had time to post, so I figured it was time for a little update...

Paul and I finally walked in our graduation ceremony on May 28th. I'm glad to say I'm completely done with school! It's such an amazing feeling and I can't wait for Paul to finish up at the end of July. Below are some pictures from the day! We are so thankful we had so many people come to share our special day with us! It was so wonderful to see everyone!

We are getting really excited for Paul's sister Carrie and Corey's wedding in less than three weeks! We will be flying to Baltimore on the 30th and can't wait to be a part of their wedding and share their special day. It will be such a great time! :)

Paul has put in orders for a command here in Whidbey Island and will find out at the end of the month if they have accepted them. So, hopefully things work out and we can stay here until he gets picked up for Officer. I'll keep you all posted on the status!

Mexico

Hello All!

Here are some pictures from our cruise to Mexico last week! We had such an amazing time and enjoyed the warm weather for a change! Our first stop was at Puerto Vallarta, where we went on a Jeep Adventure around Mexico and got to see the "real" Mexico living; it was really eye opening and made both Paul and I appreciate our lives and to be grateful for what we have! Next, was Mazatlan, where we enjoyed the day at Stone Island; there we got to go horseback riding along the beach and then relax afterward! This stop was our favorite! Last, was Cabo San Lucas; there we went on a boat tour to see the famous "arch," then to the beach for some more sun, and then we went to do some shopping! Thankfully, on Sunday after we got off the ship, we had an extremely long layover, so we were able to spend some time with Aunt Christi and the family. We stopped by Grandma Swinson's house and I was finally able to meet her! :) We had such a good time visiting with all of them! We are very grateful that we had the opportunity to take this trip and we hope everyone enjoys the pictures! :)

Lighthouse & Laconner

Last week, Paul and I took a trip to the lighthouse at Fort Casey. We arrived just at sunset and got some really good pictures! Below are the pictures from last weekend and also some from today in Laconner! We had such a good time in Laconner and hope to take a trip again sometime soon (the last picture was taken in Coupeville during the snow storm!)

Burt Family Update

It’s been quite some time since we’ve last posted, so I thought I would give everyone a little update on what is going on in the Burt family!

Christmas passed and it was wonderful and quite! Jeffrey came up from Eugene, OR. to stay with us and we had a blast! For Christmas dinner I made Prime rib, mash potatoes, homemade rolls, corn, devil eggs, homemade apple pie and all the fixings! I got a little carried away for only three people. We had a great one, but missed our families! New Year’s was also quite; Paul and I went to dinner in Mt. Vernon and then went and saw Marley and Me. It was really cute and Paul was such a good sport for letting me pick the movie!

On the 7th of January I got a call that my grandmother had passed away, so Paul and I left that day to go back to Roseburg for the funeral. It was a really sad week! It was also bittersweet because I got to see many of my distant cousins, aunts and uncles, whom I haven’t seen for years. Anyhow, thank you to everyone for all of your support and comments… I’m just glad she is in a better place! All of the adult cousins (there are 12 of us) are going to contribute money toward supporting a girl in Somalia (I think that’s where she is?) that my grandmother was doing before she passed. It’s just a small contribution we are all making each year in the memory of my grandmother.

We started school again on the 12th and I’m really excited to say it’s my last semester! YAY! It feels like I’ve been in school forever and I’m so glad the end is in sight! Paul will go to school through July, but will walk with me in our graduation ceremony held May 28th! Our semester ends on March 7th, so we only have about 5 ½ weeks to go! Wahoo! Oh, which reminds me….

Paul and I are going on a cruise! We are super excited and can’t wait! The cruise leaves out of Long Beach, CA. on the 8th of March and will come back on the 15th. It’s a seven day Mexican Riviera that stops at Puerto Vallarta, Mazatlan and Cabo San Lucas. We both are in desperate need of some warm weather and as most of you know, Paul and I are trying to have children (no luck yet) and figured this would be our last “alone” vacation for a while! We are more than ecstatic and just can’t wait! My semester will conclude with an amazing cruise, with my wonderful husband; I couldn’t have asked for a better ending to a long, long, journey!

Snowboarding at Mt. Baker

Yesterday Paul and I went boarding at Mt. Baker. We had our third day off of work, due to inclement weather. The roads are pretty bad on the island, but off, they are just fine. We had a blast at the Mountain! We road up with one of Paul's friends and ran into an acquaintance that we enjoyed boarding with. We had such a good time and can't wait to go again...well, I can, I'm pretty soar today! :) We hope everyone is doing well and miss you all!

It's SNOWING! The base was closed today due to the snow....darn, Paul and I had to stay home and play! It's snowed a total of 7 inches so far and it's supposed to go through tonight! Hopefully we won't have to work tomorrow too! :)
